THE JACKIES // RISD // 2009
lp covers for a fictional band "the jackies" and spin-off solo project a la patti smith created during a weekend workshop at RISD with visiting designer mark owens. after reading two essays, owens’ own “graphics incognito,” and diedrich diederichsen’s “intensity, negation, plain language,” and then responding to those essays by shooting deceptively straightforward band photos inspired and influenced by the post-punk aesthetic of the late 70s and early 80s.
